Shard Place

While working for RPBW, Jack led the multidisciplinary design team and was responsible for the planning and detail design of the scheme. Since the establishment of JCA in 2016, the JCA has remained a consultant to RPBW, overseeing construction and maintaining the client interface.

The third building to be delivered as part of the London Bridge Quarter masterplan, the scheme includes a 27 storey tower containing 176 apartments and retail at concourse and street level.

Unanimously approved at planning committee, the project delivers a new landscaped public space at the base of the tower and will be create a public stair connection between levels, reminiscent of the Spanish steps in Rome. The complex scheme partially sits above the underground station and tunnels. This led to an unusual structural solution transferring load paths to avoid the underground lines while freeing up valuable public realm space at the ground floor.
